Skin Cancer is not to be treated lightly -- ever -- and with our exposure greater at this time of year, it’s a good time to have your skin checked.
The Skin Cancer Foundation’s Road to Healthy Skin Tour presented by AVEENO® and Rite Aid with support from Columbia Sportswear has been on the road, offering free full body skin cancer screenings conducted by local board-certified dermatologists. The 38-foot customized RV will stop at participating Rite Aid stores and other locations in order to provide early detection services to thousands of people.
“Many people don’t know that they should get a yearly skin exam. The goal of this tour is to educate the public about skin cancer and encourage people to schedule regular skin screenings,” said Perry Robins, MD, President of The Skin Cancer Foundation. “Caught in the early stages, skin cancer is almost always curable.”
The Road to Healthy Skin Tour kicked off in New York City and will run through the fall. The tour is expected to screen more than 10,000 people and will visit more than 50 cities at 100 different locations across the country. The screenings will take place in one of two private rooms and are quick, easy and potentially life-saving. The tour will provide printed informational materials and sunscreen samples to help protect skin.
Check at your local Rite Aid store to see if the tour is coming to your town.
