Along with the rest of
I bought one for my husband for his birthday and he bought me two. I also bought them for other family members who were turned on to Turvys, too.
I spent a day going around to greenhouses to get the perfect plants and then went to Busy Beaver to get the potting soil; I was really into it. Imagine my dismay when I realized 30 pounds of dirt have to go in. The thing is heavy, to say the least!
The Topsy tipped everywhere we hung it (It should be called Tipsy Turvy). My husband, recovering from a knee replacement, wanted to go buy 2 x 4's and install an arbor to hold these giant planters. I said absolutely not! I will purchase my tomatoes locally at a good market. It’s a lot cheaper and with much less aggravation.
(Karen says after she wrote this that she saw another magazine featuring Topsy Turvys, but this time they were selling for $50 and included a stand, making them much easier to live with.)
