From now until November 9, visitors to Pittsburgh will have an opporunity to see the awesome glass work of Glass Artist Dale Chihuly in only the seventh installation of its kind in the United States. It is well worth a side trip to the Western Pennsylvania city even if you have trips planned elsewhere this year. 

The glass show is visually stunning. Chihuly's amazing glass sculptures have been installed amongst the plants and trees in the Victorian-styled Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, located in Pittsburgh's Oakland section. It's as if the work of the Seattle-based artist has been there since the conservatory opened in 1893.

Chihuly has done more to raise the maninstream public's interest in glass as a fine art form than any other artist of his time. His work can be found at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.

Phipps is offering "timed ticketing" for the show, becasue of the sheer number of visitors expeted to make their way to Pittsburgh this year to see Chihuly's work.
